PauseMind for Android

A small pause before the scroll.

For the apps you open without thinking, PauseMind creates one quiet moment to ask: do I actually want this right now?

Privacy-safe product preview, not a live screenshot.

For the apps that pull too easily.

Pick the apps where a pause would help. When one opens, PauseMind interrupts the reflex before the scroll starts.

Friction, not punishment.

Normal mode lets you continue after the timer. You stay in control, with just enough space to notice the choice.

Private by default.

No account is required. App choices, pause counters, check-ins, and local insights stay encrypted on your device.

FAQ

Questions worth answering.

What is PauseMind?

PauseMind is a small Android app that gives you a moment to choose before opening apps you tend to use on autopilot.

Will it lock me out of my apps?

No. In normal mode, you can continue after the timer. PauseMind is meant to add a useful pause, not trap you.

Should I protect essential apps?

Avoid protecting apps you may need urgently, such as emergency calling, messaging, medical, banking, authentication, transport, navigation, workplace, school, or safety-related apps. PauseMind is not an emergency or safety-critical service.

Can PauseMind guarantee app blocking?

No. Android permissions, battery settings, device manufacturers, operating system behavior, and app updates can affect monitoring. PauseMind is a digital wellbeing utility, not a guaranteed blocking, parental-control, or security product.

Can PauseMind see what I do inside other apps?

No. It can detect that a selected app opened, but it does not read messages, feeds, DMs, browser pages, media, or screen content.

Why does it ask for Usage Access?

Android requires Usage Access for PauseMind to notice when one of your selected apps comes to the front.

Why does it ask to display over other apps?

That permission lets PauseMind show the pause screen above a selected app at the exact moment you open it.

Why are notifications involved?

Android uses a visible notification while app protection is active. PauseMind may also show gentle check-in reminders.

Does my app data leave my phone?

Your selected apps, settings, pause counters, check-ins, and local insights are stored encrypted on your device. PauseMind does not require an account or send protected-app choices or app-usage history to Present State Studio servers.

Why might insights differ from Android Screen Time?

Android gives third-party apps limited usage information. PauseMind shows the activity it can detect locally, so totals may not match your phone maker’s screen-time number exactly.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

Local PauseMind history, check-ins, and settings can be removed when the app is uninstalled or app data is cleared.

How do paid features work?

If PauseMind Pro is enabled, purchases are handled by Google Play. PauseMind does not process card details directly. A one-time purchase unlocks the supported Pro features associated with that Google Play purchase.
